Working on a Book

I have spent some time now wrestling with the idea of book writing. In the fantasy genre I have extensive knowledge and experience spanning to the original Vol. 1 DnD (Dungeons and Dragons). I started role playing games when I was about ten years old and spent many an enjoyable evening hunkered down with friend battling for gold and glory against every imaginable horror. Anyway to get to the point, I have started a book and plan to post excerpts on occasion and if you care to read and provide feedback that would be great. If not well I hope you enjoy them, maybe you will have a chance some day to read the entire volume.

Living in Mexico

The strangest thing about living abroad is the strange questions I get from anyone and everyone that learns of it. From "oh my god, is it cheap?" to "I heard they are kidnapping all the tourists down there, is it safe?" the line of questioning is often long and to be quite honest, amusing. You don't realize just how close minded and naive the average American is until you tell them you've been living abroad and they are basically living inside their television. Don't get me wrong, I am not attempting to make light of the fact that they are the victims of a calculated Pavlovian conditioning taking place over a many decade period that has gotten them to this state. How does it work?

This is a question I hear quite often in life. "How does it work?". Its more than a question, it's also a statement, a request and at times even a demand for information. We go through life asking this question in one form or another in regard to so many things I would fail in this lifetime to accomplish anything else if I attempted to list them here and now. So what I am going to do is attempt to begin a list of "how does it work?"based on my own life experiences and events surrounding my daily life. I am sure that those of us that can be honest at least with ourselves when nobody else is in the room can and will relate to many of the stories about to be presented here. I am doing this without the consent or knowledge of many people soon to be mentioned here, names will be changed if not forgotten to simply keep things "simple" but rest assured if there's a story written, its accurate to the best of my recollection. My intent is not to publish fiction, but to publish a written history or accounting of events that helped to shape the decision making processes in my life. I don't want anyone to mistake an accounting of events to be some kind of apology, atonement or self imposed punishment for past misdeeds. Take it for what it is and will be: Stories based on real life, information, entertainment. I will be sharing space and time with friends and family on this blog, providing diverse perspectives. If you have or wish to share a story, please post it. If you have pictures post them. This is a blog for information, learning and entertainment so no topics are off limits and no opinions and ideas will be rejected. Inspire healthy debate and please don't be shy about joining a debate with your own ideas and opinions.
